A NICE IDEA EVERY DAY is Fabian Röttger and Vivien Weyrauch from Berlin. They originally studied cinematography but pretty soon became more interested in directing their own work. They like pop-music and films and that’s why they direct music videos. They also have a great passion for photography, which they often use as a tool to sketch out or realize ideas. Their work is about ideas and emotions, aiming for something that surprises and moves you at the same time.

A selection of A nice idea every day’s films will be screened in the Bunker throughout the festival.

by Seth Hunter & Eric Rosenbaum

Stillness Clock, Motion Clock explores the perception of time, in motion and in stillness. The slit-scanning technique is used to paint live video around a circle, mapping time onto space. The clock on the left responds to the motion of the viewer, leaving a jagged trace of activity over time. The clock on the right is active only when the scene is still, encouraging the viewer to watch in contemplative silence as their image slowly emerges. Does time pass more slowly when you are moving, or when you are still?
